The Twelve Pathways- Medicine

Medicine

Predominant virtues:

In medicine there is to be found Christianity. Where there is the one there is the other - the action of Christianity, as it and it alone, holds the keys into the spiritual and physical wellbeing of humanity.
Our body is mainframed on the same body of Christ. His Blood is within us. His Being bearing His Vision does safely contain us. He is the remedy and Love is the Cure.

The virtue here is of divine charity which is both recognized and duly administered. It is the ability within ourselves to identify a need and to answer it. To be emissaries to both He and to the Angels who do likewise.

Major problems associated with deficiency:

  • A dumb linguist & a legless dancer (in other words all contravening problems which arise in Man acting against himself)
  • The past and its associated demons reassert their influence

Minor disorders related:

  • Chaotic personality which causes disturbance
  • Slovenliness
  • Unresponsiveness
  • Constipation
  • Self-poisoning (in relation to reacting intolerantly to substances and people without)

The Twelve Pathways- Language

Language

Predominant virtues pertaining:
This study teaches us of the ability to see beyond the outer periphery of any given truth presenting and perceive a’further - perhaps to the source - and allow it to teach us of itself.

The virtue here is one of being able to learn, to take in, to be studious and respectful to the master before us. To know what is worthy of our learning and to be choosy.

This is a virtue of not only comparative thinking and of limericks amongst the text; but also of decoding the abbreviated truth. These words convey something of the idea, but it requires your imaginative abilities to supersensibly divine the rest. This is a virtue of inquiry and of subsequent finding.

Major problems associated:

  • Multiple personalities - inability to discriminate self amongst the available input of other ideas and information
  • Black magic practices (which sustain the beings behind the archaic words of worship)

Minor disorders associated with a deficit:

  • Untruthfulness (to self as well as to others)
  • Deception (misuse of words and misrepresentation)
  • Charismatic talking (inciting people with an unworthy use of words promoting sales or self interest)
  • Blaspheming

The Twelve Pathways- Horticulture

Horticulture

Predominant virtues therein:

Optimism! True grit!

An understanding of the sacred nature of reproduction and the origins of copulation (and the formative forces inspired so by).

Here we are ever inspired to life, that we most naturally come to love it well! The virtue is such an embrace, such a relationship to that which we ourselves can combine with... and the thankfulness that follows.

Life, Grace and the true affluence which is afforded us. Here we shall come to perceive the Trinity in its completeness in perfect being.

Major contrasting departures:

  • Dispassionate apathy
  • Ungratefulness
  • Desolateness

Minor problems associated:

  • Pessimism
  • Imposing ‘morality’ without reason or love
  • Restraint against arterial self

The Twelve Pathways- Engineering

Engineering
Predominant virtues of:

The active execution of ideas - the main virtue being effort - effort which puts the interest of the project before the interest of the self. It is also termed ‘goodness for goodness' sake’ ... that if we partake in worthwhile projects the results will teach us of their merit (without and within).

Affably the true engineer heads the team, whilst complying with the natural laws about him. His virtue is also of such leadership, which is intelligent and to purpose. He displays responsibility and steadfastness.

Major distortions of this area:

  • Blood fetish
  • Murder
  • Mutilation
  • Degradation (of others)

Minor disorders associated:

  • Enjoys ‘baiting’ people and inciting anger
  • Discredits people (regardless of truth or substance)
  • Refuses to be gainfully employed
  • When employed does not do share of work properly
  • Can be destructive amongst family (causing hardship)
  • Inverts the sexual forces and deposits hatreds in the act

The Twelve Pathways- Physics

Physics

Predominant virtues:

Perceives the forces which emanate out from the personas of all great beings and how they interact and form the activities resulting.

The virtue is one of expediency and learned projection. Of itself there is more of a talent rather than an actual virtue accompanying, yet one can say that when properly conducted the talent of physics brings us to that element of creativity which is driven by the will.

Major problems associated with a deficit:

  • Undisciplined behavior
  • Perceives ‘evil’ and ‘good’ to be of equal station
  • Assumes occultism to be the same as esotericism

Minor disorders associated:

  • Dreariness
  • Complacency
  • Lack of imaginative ability
  • Black humor (insensitive)
  • Fatalistic (resigned)
  • Assumes integrity, yet resists the opportunity

The Twelve Pathways- The Arts

The Arts

Predominant virtues pertaining:

The qualities which imbibe youthfulness. Happy expectation, the very imaginative anticipatory powers which call forth that which has been envisioned.

The desire to make better. The strength which shall best carry that desire. Convening between the higher worlds and the material existence - the virtues are of this coordination.

Purpose and Effort are combined with creativity. Manifestation is enhanced, and the virtue which delivers this into being is one of hope which combines then with actuality.

Major flaws associated with deficit:

  • Perceives the world inside-out: self in the world, world in the self
  • Lives for perpetuity of the past (at the expense of others)
  • Sworn to Luciferianism
 Problems related in the minor:

  • Attention seeking behaviour - hysteric
  • Ruthless in business - lacking conscience & sensitivity
  • Wilfulness (at the expense of others - promoting self’s own vision without equal consultation)
  • Lives amongst terms and contracts and holds people to them
  • Attempts seduction to execute will over others
  • Falls into rage when opposed

The Twelve Pathways- Economy

Economy

Virtues pertaining:

Here is the quality of harmonizing alongside the perception of flux and flow and the grand exchange.

When developed we find a greater sensitivity and appreciation of all other beings outside of ourselves, with thus a strengthening of the ego-sheath in that process.

Via communication we come to insights of shared experience. The virtue here therefore is one of community and of kindness as well.

Major flaws associated with deficit:

  • Thievery (no comprehension of karmic exchange or observance thereof)

  • Piracy

  • Grandiose delusions of self, of possessions and of ability

  • Ruination of others’ work (without conscience)

Minor problems associated:

  • Self incurred poverty

  • Gambling

  • Selfishness (inability to give charitably)

  • Plagiarism

  • The illusion that material wealth is somehow ‘earned’ (when affluent) and also the illusion that material wealth is to be taken for self (when poor)

  • Little or no conversational skills - verbal outpouring about self, lacking sensitivity towards others’ interests

The Twelve Pathways- Mathematics

Mathematical Study & Applied Reasoning:

Here the student is given the keynote to true beauty, in its qualities of perfection, of correctness, within Creation.

Here is the signatory to
contentment, in that the laws which uphold and cradle our beings are realized for all of their goodness and strength.

The universe is perceived to be
sensible. Graduation, continuation and further promulgation is interpreted in logical sequence, within and without.

In the discriminatory process it is that sense of perfection and right timing, the assessment of correctness, aptness and fitness which is developed accordingly through this gateway of understanding.

Flaws by deficit in the extreme:

  • Anarchy given to self and perceived in the outer Cosmos

  • Suicide (the ultimate retrogressive act)

  • Nihilism
Minor concerns related:

  • Enjoys theorizing nonsense
  • Given to the destructive criticism of others
  • Sleeplessness because of difficulty entering the spiritual worlds for fear
  • Cannot give time or imagination to the consideration of natural beauty (the garden, the countryside, the weather, the arts, for example)

The Twelve Pathways- Philosophy

Philosophy

Predominant Virtues:

A balanced and reasoning perspective, one which is flexible enough to follow the choreography of divine thought, whilst sane enough to be able to refer inwardly as well and thus discriminate into the bargain.

There is a virtue in being able to retain one’s sense of arterial selfhood whilst at the same time reaching an objectivity which is both practical and creative. It is the balance of the both, and the virtue to this becomes enlightened reason. - i.e. a receptivity and attraction to a reasoning which comes from a higher source yet to that of our own.

Flaws by deficit in the extreme:
  • Madness

  • Megalomania

  • Inflexibility

  • Distorted perspective on self & the world

  • Contentious to reality/ies

  • Aggressiveness without cause

Chapter 2- The Twelve Pathways

So we have discussed some of the attributes associated with an esoteric understanding of certain subjects, subjects which will invariably speak inwardly to the student of many related mysteries besides. We have also looked briefly into some of the problems which may occur should the occult student not be accomplished in a given area, and made comment on ways which may impair the overall learning should it remain a deficit.

Spiritual interpretives of subjects can weave up the very fabric of our thinking, our impelling, of our comprehensions, of our ego-mantle as it were, and can persist within our inner lives not merely as forms of conceptualization but as living keys into reality, into direct and straightforward perceptions, which will later guide us through the inner worlds and higher spheres with vast determination.
If we become equipped we are empowered. If we are attentive to that which begs work within us (and not fearful or defensive, but decided and happily so, anticipating new strengths) then we can address and enhance ourselves considerably. It is natural for a man to yearn for such improvement. Hindrances to this impelling may be caused by:

  • Elementals of self-doubt (and therefore doubt of the World also).
  • Elementals of arrogance (a false vanity which prohibits a beneficial advancement).
  • Mean-spiritedness (it does exclude many unfortunately).
  • The use of intoxicants (whereupon the inner compass has lost its dial and discrimination is surrendered to ‘chance’).
  • Great sadness taxing the periphery of being (this may be a condition of shock brought about by a single event to which a person still suffers, and remains ‘caught in time’ by).
  • Disinterest. The soul has withdrawn, the personality maintains itself and the man does not experience a connection with the world expressed freely through love, ambition, devotion or desire.
  • Sclerosis in the thinking processes.
  • A philosophy of anarchy (reflected also in thinking incapable of application).

These problems point us to a handful of concerns which may inhibit a man from naturally seeking out a fresher definition of self for himself. However for the student who has made it as far as this paragraph on this page, the above holds no serious warrant ... save the warning about intoxicants (which no man, be them student or master, can afford to dance-the-dance with).

We can proceed therefore to the next checklist confident in much new possibility, critically but kindly. Here we can take the opportunity to review ourselves by considering each subject in virtue and absence and decide if we require some more development in that particular area of esoteric understanding. This does not necessarily relate to the worldly study or application of these subjects, but rather the spiritual qualities and misdemeanors implied.

When a man consciously decides to pursue esoteric knowledge there are changes which occur within his astral physiognomy almost immediately. Of course the decision has really been cast over a succession of lifetimes and been brought finally before him. There, as an apparition standing at the temple door, he sees himself and concludes it right; and upon his excitement there are starry gateways opening within, which hitherto had only glowed as but subtle embers within his slumbering makeover. This is often why the entrance to the ‘Path’ is termed ‘Backdraft’, because of the resulting activity ignited into being so very quickly.

You see it might appear nonsensical that we can study a flaw in an individual just because he has an absence of a given form of understanding. However, the flaw is apparent because of that gateway now made active and receptive within his enlivened astral counterpart. We are so responsive to the heavens that the brilliance of our own minds will invite the fiery activity in upon ourselves ... and in the instances of our being underdeveloped in any given region, we shall almost certainly mirror-image the proteins that are there possible.

Immaturity is hazardous in such matters. We can become the very antithesis to virtue if we are to stimulate those cosmic activities without the membrane of true ego to contain them.

Would-be initiates may have the qualification of fantastic enthusiasm and expectation, but what is also required is a holistic approach to their fibre and fabric of overall development. There is no other being or man who is capable of assessing and readdressing such areas of selfhood, as each shall know of himself. Selfhood is sacred; it is impartial to all but to Father God and its own inner resistance ... there is no other who can begin to look within you and judge as you may therefore judge yourself.
These pathways of and to selfhood are as follows: - NEXT!
